Find the equivalent resistance between points A and B.
The most important part of the problem is to recognize that three resistors, shown in the figure, are connected in series. The resistors are connected in series if the current through the resistors is the same. We can rearrange the positions of the resistors and redraw the circuit as shown in the figure.
Now we can clearly see that all three resistors are connected in series – the currents though all three resistors are the same. For three resistors connected in series, the equivalent resistance is (see figure)
